Ms. Kaushalya Fernando was able to win second runners-up at the Inter-University Food Science Quiz Competition, organized by the Institute of Food Science and Technology, Sri Lanka. The event was held on the 23rd of August at the Mihilaka Medura, BMICH alongside Pro-food Pro-Pack exhibition 2024.
When asked what this achievement means to her, Ms. Kaushalya expressed her experience as; “Participating in the inter-university quiz competition was an exhilarating and rewarding experience that I will cherish for a long time. The journey to winning third place was filled with dedication, intense preparation, and a deep dive into the fascinating world of food science and technology. In the weeks leading up to the competition, I focused extensively on the core topics related to food science. I spent considerable time
studying the latest updates and guidelines related to food science and technology. The preparation for this competition was a collaborative effort, greatly supported by my lecturers. Their expertise and guidance were instrumental in shaping my understanding of the key topics essential for the quiz. Collaborating with my peers and seniors was another key aspect of my preparation. We held group discussions to challenge each other’s knowledge, clarify doubts, and exchange valuable insights. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent my university and showcase my knowledge on such a prominent platform. ”.
