1. Dean’s List Entry Criteria

Undergraduate degree programmes of the FLFN consists of three academic levels; Level 1 (First two years), Level 2 (Year 3) and Level 3 (Year 4). In order to earn Dean’s List standing in a given level of study, a student must fulfil two sets of requirement; Criteria common to all three academic levels (Section 1.1 – Common criteria) and criteria specific to each level (Section 1.2- Specific criteria for Levels).

1.1 Common Criteria

A student should have;

  • Obtained a ‘C’ or higher grade from the first attempt for all credited course units taken by the student in the considered academic level.
  • Obtained pass marks for all non-credited compulsory course units during the considered academic level for Dean’s list.
  • Not faced any disciplinary action approved by the Council for any misconduct while in the University.
  • Not received any warning letter for any misconduct from the Vice Chancellor/Dean/Proctor during the considered academic level for the Dean’s list.
  • Evidence for the involvement in extra-curricular activities. (Section 2.b)

 

1.2 Specific criteria for Levels

1.2.1 Specific criteria for Levels 1

 A student should have;

  • Obtained a minimum GPA of 3.55 for Level 1.
  • Completed 60 credits in Level 1.

1.2.2 Specific criteria for Level 2

A student should have;

  • Obtained a minimum GPA of 3.60 for Level 2.
  • Completed a minimum of 40 credits in Level 2 including compulsory course units.

1.2.3 Specific criteria for Level 3

A student should have;

  • Obtained a minimum GPA of 3.70 for Level 3.
  • Completed a minimum of 20 credits in Level 3 including compulsory course units.

 

  1. Implementation
  • Selection to the Dean’s List will be done by the Teaching and Learning Committee of the faculty.
  • Evidence for the involvement in extracurricular activities will be gathered from the Student Portfolio.
  • Dean’s List concept is implemented for the three levels of the faculty’s fulltime undergraduate study programme.
  • Dean’s lists will be prepared annually and upon obtaining the recommendation of Faculty Board, will be published by displaying in the faculty website and / or faculty notice board.
  • Students selected to the Dean’s List will receive a certificate from the Dean.
  • A suitable notation of this achievement is placed on the student’s academic transcript and included into student’s personal file.
  • The opportunity to enter in the dean’s list is notified in the Students’ Hand book (Section 7.1).
