Professor CVL Jayasinghe is a Senior Professor of Food Science and Technology at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, where she serves as Chair Professor in the Department of Food Science & Technology, Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition. With 35 years of professional experience spanning academia and applied research, her work focuses on plant-based proteins, food lipids, polysaccharides, bioactive compounds, and the valorization of fish and plant waste for food security and safety.
She has held key leadership roles, including Dean of her faculty and two-term Head of Department, and is currently Director of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office. Her research portfolio includes over 60 SCI-indexed journal publications, numerous book chapters, and international grants from the World Bank, FAO, IDRC-Canada, and the Commonwealth Association. Recognized with Sri Lanka’s Presidential Awards for Research Excellence and international postdoctoral fellowships in Japan, the UK, and Canada, she has also supervised multiple PhD and postgraduate researchers.
