He is also a Registered Medical Practitioner (Medical Doctor- Registered in Sri Lanka Medical Council) with more than 10 years of clinical experience at Government Hospitals in Sri Lanka.<span> \u00a0<\/span>As a University academic he has research and teaching experience in the fields of Clinical Biochemistry, Human Nutrition, and public Health. He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2004.
